Couple at Carolina Grove in Hillsborough NC

A Vibrant Carolina Grove Wedding

Gab and Tucker reached out to us in early 2023 to chat about their vibrant, intimate, and intentionally planned wedding celebration in July. From our first conversation, we were so excited about their vision for a homegrown, locally-sourced wedding.

Gab and Tucker’s wedding was a three-day affair. It began on Thursday with a welcome party at Speakeasy. Red Rocking Chair animated the party with toe-tapping Americana, folk, and bluegrass tunes, and Neil’s Deli welcomed the couple’s friends and loved ones to North Carolina with tomato sandwiches and barbecue. Great music, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere set the tone for an exquisitely Southern celebration.

On Friday, the couple hosted an intimate rehearsal dinner at their home. We were worried about summer showers, but the clouds cleared just in time for an outdoor, family-style dinner from Tessoro Carrboro underneath twinkle lights in the couple’s side yard. The gathered families sang a song together and shared touching toasts celebrating the couple.

Fittingly, Gab and Tucker started their wedding day on Saturday at home. They opted to have their first look in a clearing among trees on their property. After some family photos, we all set out for Carolina Grove, a modern barn surrounded by natural beauty and plenty of twinkle lights in Hillsborough, NC. Guests were welcomed to the ceremony with a gong sound bath from G’s House of Yoga as well as a custom “maypole” that provided a colorful backdrop to Gab and Tucker’s exchange of personally written vows.

After a few private moments following the ceremony, the couple gathered friends and family for portraits in front of Carolina Grove’s Leaning Tree while guests found their seats at dinner tables adorned with wildflowers from Gab and Tucker’s own yard. After a gorgeous, locally sourced dinner from Snap Pea followed by toasts, dances, and a special song, Toni Tupponce and Tyrone Jefferson of A Sign of the Times brought the house down during an evening of dancing.

What a weekend! This one was really special. We’re grateful to the wonderful vendors who brought Gab and Tucker’s vision to life:
